clean the earmold 

Be aware that there are several different molds – and that they should be cleaned differently - so make sure you know which solution you have.

Molds used for RITE styles cannot be detached from the hearing aid, and since they contain electronics they must never be washed or immersed in water or other liquids.

Micromold, LiteTip or power mold
There are 3 different types of molds: Micromold, LiteTip and power mold. The molds are customized for your ear shape.

Maintain the Micromold, LiteTip or power mold
The mold should be cleaned regularly. The wax filter in the earpiece should be replaced when clogged or when the hearing instrument does not sound normal. Use the wax filter delivered by your hearing care professional.

Different molds

Molds for RITE speakers and for Corda miniFit

Molds for speakers range from Micromold and LiteTip to Power mold solutions, and they are used with RITE styles. For thin tube fittings on a BTE instrument, a Corda mold is used. Since they are custom-made from an ear impression, molds keep the hearing aid more securely locked in the ear as they take advantage of all the curves and contours of the ear.
