How to use your hearing aids with a PC

Stream audio wirelessly from your PC for a quality sound experience

Whether music, audio or conversations – Oticon hearing aids connect with your PC for an immersive, quality stereo sound experience.

  • The instructions you need depend on which hearing aids and which PC you have.

  • Newer hearing aids that support two-way audio via Bluetooth® LE Audio can connect directly to Windows PCs that also support LE Audio.

  • If your hearing aids support LE Audio but your PC does not, then you can use the Easy LE Adapter to stream sound and calls from your PC.

  • For older Oticon hearing aids and older PCs that do not support LE Audio, you will need a ConnectClip accessory to connect your hearing aids to your PC.

Connect your Oticon hearing aids to your computer or tablet and enjoy high-quality sound directly in your ears.

Troubleshooting problems when streaming sound from your PC

You can solve many common connectivity issues by refreshing the connection with your hearing aids. We do not recommend turning Bluetooth off and then on again, as this will disconnect any other wireless devices such as your keyboard or mouse. If problems persist, try pairing the hearing aids to the PC again.

Hearing aids connected to multiple devices

Your hearing aids can be paired and connected to multiple devices, but you can only stream sound from one device. For example, if you are connected to your PC and you then wish to make a phone call:

1. Disconnect your hearing aids from your PC.

2. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, check that your hearing aids have connected.

3. Start the phone call. The sound from the call will stream to your hearing aids.

If you wish to switch back to listening to audio on your PC:

1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone.

2. Connect your hearing aids to your PC.

3. Start audio streaming on your PC. The sound from the PC will stream to your hearing aids.

Note: Your hearing aids need to support Bluetooth LE Audio to use the Easy LE Adapter. And to use the Easy LE Adapter with your PC, it needs a USB-C port.
In case your computer does not have a USB-C port, then it is possible to use a USB-A adapter. However, not all third-party USB adapters are guaranteed to work with the Easy LE Adapter.

  1. Plug the Easy LE Adapter into the USB-C port of the PC or laptop. The adapter will power on and enter pairing mode (if no existing pairing is found). Pairing mode is indicated by the LED indicator fast flashing blue. In this mode the Easy LE Adapter will search for any LE Audio devices, within a range of 2 meters, ready to pair.

  2. Restart your hearing aids (this will put them in pairing mode for 3 minutes).

  3. Wait for the hearing aids and adapter to pair. The Easy LE Adapter is paired when the LED indicator on the adapter changes from fast flashing blue to a steady blue light for 5 seconds and then power off. You are now ready to stream audio or make hands-free calls by help of the Easy LE Adapter.

Want to connect Streamer Pro to your PC or tablet without Bluetooth?

Many computers have built-in Bluetooth technology; however some still rely on alternative methods to transmit sound to headphones.

If you are looking to connect Streamer Pro to your computer or tablet without Bluetooth technology, there are two ways to do it:

1. by connecting Streamer Pro to your device using a mini jack cable

2. by installing a Bluetooth dongle (such as Sennheiser BTD800 USB dongle) on your device, and then pairing it with Streamer Pro

Watch these quick visual guides for more information.

*Make sure you read the dongle’s manual carefully before installation: it’s likely to go into pairing mode as soon as it’s been inserted into the USB connector.  Also make sure Streamer Pro is in pairing mode prior to inserting the dongle.
